Lunch Regulations

Hillside High School, Coach Harrison, and Deputy Sheriff, Joseph Costa,

speaks on lunch regulations.

Coach Harrison speaks on lunch regulations and how the students should earn their out of campus passes.

Lunch regulations should be talked about to students to make sure they understand why it could be dangerous. We have competition here since there are restaurants near the school,  but the food on campus is really good and is free. When the students go off campus they could be in danger because the stores are close but they are also far away; it could be dangerous for students. When they go to the store they can be robbed or something can happen to them and we can’t do anything, according to Harrison. “I just want the students to be safe.”

Lunch regulations should be earned and they should be for upper classmates only and that is because they have a little more maturity.

When Harrison was in High School only Seniors were allowed to leave the campus and their cafeteria food was very good.

Costa speaks about lunch regulations and about the students that go off campus and how dangerous it can be.

Lunch regulations should be for students who have good grades and are mature enough to handle being off campus, according to Costa. “I think the rules are based on responsibility and maturity.” Costa has made it clear to the students that going off campus is very dangerous because the teachers can’t protect them when they are far from them.

Off campus is a big deal especially with kids sometimes doing crimes or doing bad things that they are not supposed to do, according to Costa. “I treat the students differently based on what they did and how they act with me.”

During Costa’s High School years they would not let the students leave campus and the students couldn’t bring their cars to school.
