Christian Jones, a sophomore at Hillside High School plays trombone. Jones is a member of the Hillside marching band.
Jones has joined a band since he was in 6th grade. Jones was inspired by his mother and sister to join a band.
In high school Jones enjoys the experience of marching with the band.
One of Jones’s favorite memories is being able to join a competition. “I was really nervous at first, but when everyone is playing, it was fun.”
Jones said,”before joining a band I was more of a shy person. After joining band, and being surrounded by many people, makes me more talkative.”
One of the challenging moments Jones has experienced is how to keep up with the notes while playing with everyone. There’s a lot of pressure he says. “Everyone is looking at you.”
