Parking Policy
Parking policies at Hillside High School are very important when you have a car and have to take responsibility when you go somewhere.
Deborah Harrington speaks on parking policies. She is the person in charge of the parking policy/ parking payments , she works with students and staff who are paying to park at HHS.
They charge $75 a school year and they charge $37.50 half a year (until January) to park at HHS. Charging students/staff to park at HHS is a DPS (Durham Public Schools) policy. The money that they gain from the students/staff they fund it to the security (sheriff, staff, ETC…).
It is for the people that have a license, a permit to drive from their house to school and back, and is also for the people that can afford it, according to Harrington.
If you have two cars you can change the tag to the other car, so that you don’t have to pay double. Staff also pays to park.
“If people have a special situation and can’t afford it they should get free parking.”
